EGM The Extraordinary General Meeting of the USYD Media and Communications Society will be held on the morning of Friday 31 March 2006 (details below). At the EGM, elections will be held for a new executive for 2006 and a series of constitutional amendments on the executive structure and aims of the society will be voted upon. The future of the society's publishing arm, idMedia, will also be discussed.
All members (and interested non-members) are encouraged to attend and participate at the EGM, as the club enters 2006 full of potential and in a strong financial position. Non-members will be able to sign up immediately before the meeting. Any questions and/or self-nominations for leadership and committee positions can be emailed to usydmedia@yahoo.com.au.
Regards and thanks,
Aaron Rathmell, President.

NEWS DIGEST The idMedia News Digest, established back in 2004, is an e-newsletter originally produced by the Sydney University Journalists' Society (now a part of the Media and Communications Society).
The Digest is a non-aligned publication and welcomes contributions from across the political spectrum. Members are encouraged to contribute their ideas, insights and analysis of student, national and international news to these pages. Creative writing is also welcome - and its a great way to build up a portfolio.
In 2004 and 2005, the Digest had a strong readership, witnessed by our encouraging web statistics. And it's set to grow further in 2006. We need more informants and reporters, well positioned to in turn bring readers accurate news from across campus factional divides. This will be particularly important in the run up to Union Board elections.
E-mail all questions/expressions of interest to usydmedia@yahoo.com.au
Regards and thanks,
Aaron Rathmell, President.
